The property that houses Nicholas Michaels Spa was built in 1850. It went through its first major renovation before opening in 1985. In October 2007, woken in the middle of the night with news of a fire the spa was closed for one year opening in 2008. Not missing a beat Nicholas Michaels they were up and running in five weeks at the temporary location just across the street.
The night of the fire the Northborough Fire Chief came over to us with the news of how we will not be opening, he then said I don’t know you both, what I do know is that your parking lot is always full, the community and the ladies speak highly of you both. He said like the Phoenix you will rise from the ashes you will better and stronger. Thankful that no one was injured and that our building was saved, for the five weeks during the build-out of their temporary home, we hosted a two-week cut-a-thon
benefiting the Northborough Fire Department and the Northboro Police Department the money raised was presented to them at a red carpet opening of their temporary location.
Who would have known that the donations would be two of the largest private donations, the money was put to very good use, advanced education for the firefighters and the police department purchased defibrillators or ach
police car. One year later a woman and her son came into our facility to thank us both for the donation, it seems the defibrillators saved her life. In the end, it’s been said that everything happens for a reason, it could have been much worst.
Opening one year later, almost to the day, we're stronger, we're better, we're thankful, we're loved.
